Create a day trip or extended vacation centered on the great outdoors and nature. Interested in learning how to pickle or can? Want  to throw your fresh catch straight on the grill? Curious about honey gathering and bee keeping? Desirous to create delicious food after harvesting yourself? These are just a few of the activities in which you can engage here "on the farm".

Only an hour south of New Orleans, Hesperides Grove is situated in the sportsperson's paradise of Plaquemines Parish. While here you can hike, fish, hunt, charter a boat ride, explore local historical sites like Fort Jackson and the haunts of Jean Lafitte the pirate, or sit under a majestic oak and enjoy a  beverage and a great book!

Hesperides Grove became ours in 2006 and we have had the opportunity to bring it back from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Over 1,000 volunteers stayed here during the rebuilding phase in Plaquemines Parish to help support the rebirth of our community.

There is nothing more joyful than having children (and adults) discover animals and the peace and serenity of the farm. The grapefruit trees are perfect starter trees for those who haven't climbed a tree before and our animals love company!

Our most important rule is to "act as if you live here", whether you want to curl up in a secret spot with a good book or host a raucous sing-a-long around the fire pit.

As a working farm, activities and opportunities change weekly here. Check out our "What's Happening Now" section on the home page to stay current on what's happening.
